Philippe Wolfers for Wolfers Frères, Brussels, a very important museum quality silver art nouveau three piece coffee set 'Orchids', designed and executed ca. 1897-1900, height coffee pot 25 cm, width 23 cm (from spout to handle), height milk jug 14 cm, width 11 cm, height sugar bowl 14 cm, width 16 cm (handle to handle) cm. All pieces marked with makers mark and alloy mark for 800/1000. One of the most stunning designs by Philippe Wolfers, this set has a very rare orchids decoration. This set figured in an Art Nouveau exhibition in Budapest and features in a Fiona Gallagher book on art nouveau. A similar set belongs to a private collection and to the DIVA museum collection in Antwerp. However, both of these sets have a different decoration.  This published piece comes with ample documentation. A masterpiece of Belgian Art Nouveau! In good, used but unpolished condition.
