King Louis XVIII of France promotion document
A document promoting 'sieur de Quartery (Melchior)', capitain of the 3rd 'Régiment d'infanterie de la Garde Royale' to the grade of 'Chef-de-Bataillon' on the 4th of june 1817. With what could be an autograph or printed signature of Louis XVIII, King of France and also signed by Henri Clarke (1765-1818), 'comte d'Hunebourg, duc de Feltre', his minister of war. Dimensions 29 x 42 cm, heavy folds, stains, one tear near the left corner of about 2 cm. Provenance: private collection of a historian. (Reserved)
