Domien Ingels Prancing stallion in bronze 1924-1925

Domien Ingels (1881-1946), the prancing stallion, 1924-1925, a very rare and large sculpture in patinated bronze, on a stepped Belgian marble base, signed on the bronze base, with foundry mark of Vindevogel also on the base,  height 83 cm, lenght  approx. 47 cm , width  45 cm (with base). This cast is one of the earliest (if not the first) of this model and one of the finest sculptures by Ingels we have had in the gallery. It was shown at the Gent Salon in 1925. Provenance: private collection. With documentation.
