Jan Anteunis, a rare bronze torso

Jan Anteunis (1896-1973), a torso, patinated bronze, signed on the front of the base, height 64 cm, width 30 cm, depth 20 cm. Another (or the same) cast is illustrated in the catalogue of the Retrospective exhibition on Jan Anteunis at the Museum Léon De Smet in 1993, illustrated in the catalogue on p.8. Some wear to the patination, but in original unrestored condition. This sculpture is diifcult to find on the artmarket, especially the bronze version.
