A historismus engraved drinking glass with silver gilt base, France, ca. 1900

French Silversmith marking with inititals L.P., a very finely decorated historismus wine glass, with engraved silver gilt base, makers mark on the stem and alloy mark for 950/1000 on the bottom of the base. In good condition, the glass slightly tilted, height 15,3 cm, diameter glass 7,3 cm, diameter base 6,6 cm. Provenance: Monseigneur Georges De Keersmaker (1905-1996), prelate of honour of His Holiness; probably gifted or inherited form the painter Ernest Wante (1872-1960).
