Albert Baertsoen (1866-1922), Oudenaarde in the Evening, 1900, a very important charcoal drawing, signed with the monogram bottom right, charcoal on paper laid down on canvas (with slight hightening of gouache), 88 x 88 cm (day measure). Fierens-Gevaert considered this drawing one of the most important in the oeuvre of Baertsoen. This drawing gave way a.o. to the making of an etching and a lithograph by the artist.
