Gustave De Smet (1877-1943), a view on the St-Peter's and St-Paul's church of Bachte-Maria-Leerne by moonlight, a rare and early symbolist painting, oil on panel, signed with the monogram bottom right, ca. 1906-1908, 29,5 x 44,5 cm, dimensions with modern frame 43,5 x 59,5 cm. This rediscovered work by De Smet is accompanied by a certificate by Mr. Piet Boyens.
