Jean Emile (or Emile Jean) Van Cauwelaert (1860-1907), a very rare Rubenesque nude lying in an orchard, oil on canvas, signed bottom left, 68,5 x 109 cm. Relined and restaurations. A rare large format work by this artist, who died at the age of 47. Appreciated in the US, Van Cauwelaert received the honnour of exhibiting in the Art Institute of Chicago in 1902.
