Jozef Cantré (1890-1957), The Crime (het Misdrijf), 1921, an original woodcut, signed in pencil by the artist bottom right, with the mention 'Handdruk' in pencil bottom left, 20,5 x 18 cm (sheet, slightly irregular). The paper very thin so-called 'Japanese' paper often used for block prints, a tear bottom right through the signature of the artist. Unframed. From the personal collection of Auguste Taevernier, Ghent. this very rare woodcut also features in the 'Geel Zaad -Grain Jaune' portofolio edited by the artist in 1921.
