Clémence or Clementine Jonnaert (1856 - 1941), The interior of the artist with an early sculpture by Léon Sarteel and flowers in a Japanese vase on a Chinese famille rose dish, an oil on canvas, signed top right, 76 x 55,5 cm, dimensions with the original but restored frame 91 x 70 cm. A small restoration at the upper left corner. Jonnaert was a female painter who was working and living in Sint-Martens-Latem. She was one of the most expressive flower painters of her generation. Provenance: family of the artist.
