Emile Claus Niagara Waterfall 1907

Emile Claus (1849-1924), the Niagara waterfalls in the snow, 1907, an extremely rare pencil on paper made during Claus' visit to the US, 27 x 20,5 cm (day measure), dimensions with frame 43 x 34,5 cm, signed with the monogram, localised and dated bottom right. Only a handful of drawings that Claus made in the States are known. This drawing was exhibited in the Waregem retrospective in 1985 and a related entry in his diary dates this drawing to the 13th of March 1907.
