Emile Godchaux (around 1860-1938), a mountainious landscape with a fisherman at lake's shore, oil on canvas, 49 x 65 cm, dimensions with 19th century frame 74,5 x 91,5 cm, signed bottom right with the engraved signature. Often confused with Alfred Godchaux, a good article on the artist and his signatures is to be found in Schurr G., Les Petits Maîtres de la Peinture - valeurs de demain, Paris, Ed. de l'Amateur, 1976, tome III, p. 41
