Octave Soudan (1872-1947), 'Mijne hut 's winters te St-Martens-Leerne bij Gent (my cabin in winter), 1925, oil on canvas, 51 x 60,5 cm, signed and dated bottom right, dimensions with the original frame: 60 x 69,5 cm. This rural house later became the workshop of painter Antoon De Clercq and writer/painter Hugo Claus. By repute, it was here that Hugo Claus met Roger Raveel for the first time.
