René Degroux (1888-1953), a summer landscape, probably near Oostmalle, oil on canvas, signed bottom right, 39 x 70,5 cm, dimensions with the original neo L XVth frame: 61 x 93 cm. This Brussels born painter went to live in Oostmalle and worked in the region. He also befriended Edmond Van Doornen whom he painted.
