Karel Aubroeck Morther & Child

Karel Aubroeck (Temse 1894-1986), Mother & Child, a sculpture in wood, typical example of his fine quality work of the 1920's and '30s, height 48,5cm, signed on the back of the base and justified on the bottom III/VI. A similar but larger sculpture of the same theme is exhibited at the Royal Museums of Fine Art in Brussels, in the recently openend rooms dedicated to the XXth century https://www.artandhistory.museum/nl/sierkunsten-van-de-19de-eeuw-belgische-art-nouveau-en-art-deco.
