Armand Heins (1856 - 1938) 'Le Gouter', 1910. Etching after the painting of Frenchman Lucien Simon from 1906. Dimension of the sheet 45 x 65,7 cm, dimension of the etching 34 x 38 cm. The painting was exhibited on the Salon of 1909, in Ghent and belonged to the Collection R. Murdoch in Antwerp. The photogravure carries the inscription 'Société Royale pour l'encouragement des beaux-arts de Gand', 'Salon de 1909', 'Le Gouter', 'Armand Heins aqua-forte' and 'Lucien Simon pinx'. The signature of Heins is present in the etching. Written in pencil by Armand Heins: 'Epreuve d'artiste rare' on the bottom right, and the signature of Heins in pencil on the bottom left; 'A. Heins Gand'. The etching is listed in the catalog 'Les Eaux-fortes d'Armand Heins' under the number 201. Paper has folds on the left and right side of the margins, and has a tear of 2cm on the top. Unframed.
