Illegible signature (Eastern European School?), representing an eastern European couple sitting on a wooden ferris wheel, ca. 1910 or earlier, oil on canvas, signed bottom right, 40 x 18 cm, dimensions with frame 57 x 35 cm. We found this type of early, wooden ferris wheels on a lithographic card dated 1857, depicting a Rumanian Fair in Bukarest as well as on images taken in Armenia. Wooden wheels were gradually being replaced by metal ones around 1900.
