Jeanne Van Cauwenberghe (1907-1941), a rare and very original large study of a reclining nude, a torso, oil on canvas laid down on board, probably 1930's. Unsigned, this study is a rare example of the talent of this female painter and sculptor, whose life was cut short. Only very few works by Jeanne have survived. 81 x 71 cm, dimensions with the original but damaged frame 97 x 87 cm.
