An old African shield, first half of the 20th century, made by Bapoto craftsmen, Democratic Republic of Congo, with beautiful patterns of braided wicker and pleated strings, leather, partially painted, the wooden handle geometrically carved, length 108 cm, width 37 cm. Ware consistent with age and handling.
