Charles Nicholas Cochin L'Ecole de dessein
Charles Nicholas Cochin (author and draftsman) and Benoît Louis Prévost (engraver), 'the drawing school', a collection of 38 engravings with text and explanations made for the 'Encyclopédie', ca. 1763-1777, probably a 'tirage ap
art', without frontispice or title page, in a worn late 19th century cardboard binding, the plates and text pages slightly browned (certainly the first and last page opposite the binding), but otherwise in reasonable condition, 39,5 x 26,5 cm. According to the legend, plates complete, with a slight mixup in the numbering at the end. Very interesting source on drawing and its teaching at the end of the 19th century.
