Louis Joseph Désiré Crépin (Fives (Lille-France) 1828 - Bruxelles 1887), canal view near Brussels, a very rare oil on canvas, signed bottom left, 35 x 60,5 cm, dimensions with modern frame 46 x 72 cm. A rare painting by this often overlooked but very interesting artist, friend of Boudin and Rodin, one of the founding members of the Société Libre des Beaux-Arts. The Musée Charlier was gifted several paintings by the biographer of the painter.
