Philippe Vandenberg (1952-2009), an early oil on canvas, with a crusty, fiercely painted surface, 180 x 100 cm, signed and dated at the back "Philippe vandenberghe (sic) / 1983". Painted in relation to a series of paintings called 'The Grip' ('De Greep'). 'To be included in the forthcoming overview catalogue of the complete works of Philippe Vandenberg by the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation.
